Doug was a partner in a law firm with Brian Lamrock. He was a former Scout Master, an Elder in his Church and was the co-former of Nepean Legacy Group. He was also on the executive committee for First Penrith Scouts. He is an Honorary member of Penrith Rotary Club.

Ambulance service was given a portable humidicrib as well as rescue gear.

Doug’s theme was D+T+A=S which stood for Dedication plus Thought plus Action equals Service.

Thorndale School children were taken in buses to Taronga Zoo.

A Careers Night was held at Nepean High where over 2000 attended.
