Jim was the owner of a motor vehicle parts business in High Street, now called “Auto One”. Jim also owned and operated the Dungowan Picture Theatre in Station Street. He also owned a great number of vintage cars which he rented to movie makers. Jim passed away in 1999.

During the year aid was given for extensions of the Governor Phillip Hospital, the Townsville Cyclone Disaster as well as supporting many local charities including Penrith Pipe Band.

Membership increased to seventy.
