John was the owner of a Penrith Engineering Company. He was the youngest person to ever be President of Penrith Rotary. 

During the year, together with Nepean Canoe Club, a “Paddle-thon” was conducted to provide technical training for twelve handicapped Youths in Hong Kong  

Forty Crippled children were entertained with a picnic and speed boat rides.

Aid was given to Cambridge Park and Mulgoa Schools.
