Arthur owned “Nepean Dry Cleaners” and later establisheda local newspaper, the“Nepean Herald”. He was an active member of the Nepean Crippled Children Association and was an Alderman on Penrith Council. He left our club in 1976 to be the Foundation President of South Penrith Rotary Club.

During the year a Therapeutic Swimming pool was completed for the Nepean Crippled Children.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A tour of Nepean Dairy was arranged for 24 school students.    

 

Over 3,000 attended the Careers Night, at Penrith High and Career lectures were given at Penrith Golf Club.

 

A Grand piano was presented to Penrith High School.

 

Members enjoyed a “Beef & Burgundy” Night, a “Corn–on–the–Cob” night, Theatre parties, an “Antique” evening and a car rally.

New Zealand Tour

Over 32 Rotarians plus wives and friends participated in a tour of New Zealand.

 

Membership was now 56.
