John began his legal practice in Penrith in 1930. He was President of Penrith

Ambulance Committee, President of the Penrith Sub Branch of the RSL, Deputy Mayor, Chairman of the Cemetery Trust, Director of Nepean Hospital and Elder of his Church. He died suddenly in 1965, still a Rotararian.

During the year funds were raised for the “Ken Falconer” project. This raised funds for Junior Farmers Overseas. Ken, a young local farmer, was sent overseas to visit farms in England and USA.

The club helped form a Penrith branch of the “New Settlers League”.
