Mavon came to Penrith in 1946 and established an agency for The Mutual Life & Citizens Assurance Company. He served as secretary of the Penrith Co-operative Building Societies and secretary of Penrith Bowling Club. He remained a member of Penrith Rotary until his death in 1978.

During the year, Penrith sponsored St Marys Rotary Club, with Alan Gilkes the Charter President.

 

Trees were planted along the driveway to Nepean District Hospital.

 

A cricket match was held against the Rotary Club of Marrickville.

 

Assistance was also given Katoomba Rotary for bush fire relief.
